The George Cobb-designed 18-hole championship golf course is the flagship amenity and the one most prominently featured in community marketing. Golf in a mountain setting -- with Transylvania County ridge views, elevation changes that make club selection challenging, and the natural terrain integration that Cobb's mountain designs are known for -- provides a different game experience than flat-terrain courses. The course is semi-private, meaning daily green fees are available at approximately $29 for 18 holes (cart additional), making it accessible for both community residents and outside visitors. Golf membership tiers provide access at lower per-round effective cost for residents who play frequently.

The new 12,000 sq ft Activity and Wellness Center provides fitness equipment, exercise classes, fitness programs led by in-house trainers, and treatment opportunities. This facility, noted as recently built, represents a significant capital investment that the one-time amenity fee fund contributed to. The outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, bocce courts, and outdoor track complete the active recreation inventory without requiring departure from the community property. The organic community garden provides a more contemplative shared space. DogPark facilities accommodate pet owners. The combination of active and social amenities within the 3,900-acre private community means that days can be fully occupied without leaving the gate.

20+ Miles of Trails and Six Waterfalls

The Connestee Falls trail system, built and maintained entirely by resident volunteers, is one of the more remarkable community-built trail networks in the western NC mountain community space. Over 20 miles of marked hiking trails wind through the community's forested terrain, with six named waterfalls accessible from the trail network. One long-time resident notes having "hiked nearly all 15 miles of trails at one time or another" (trail networks evolve; current total is 20+). A resident-operated trail club manages trail maintenance, new trail design, and the signage that makes the network navigable. For trail users who want more mileage than the community system provides, DuPont State Forest six miles away offers world-class waterfall hiking and mountain biking on 10,000+ public acres.

DuPont State Forest and Brevard Music Center

DuPont State Forest, six miles from Connestee's gate, is one of the most celebrated outdoor recreation destinations in the Southeast. The forest's waterfall network -- including the three-tiered High Falls at 120 feet, Triple Falls, and Hooker Falls -- along with 80+ miles of trail and forest road for hiking and mountain biking, makes it a resource that Connestee residents can access as a day trip multiple times per week through the year. The combination of Connestee's private trail system (for community-only quiet recreation) and DuPont's public forest (for variety and scale) gives residents a combined trail access that few mountain communities can match.

The Brevard Music Center's six-week summer classical music festival, 15 minutes from Connestee, is the cultural anchor for Transylvania County's summer season. Internationally recognized orchestral conductors, guest soloists, and 170+ student musicians from major conservatories make the Brevard Music Center's summer programming a genuine destination event. Connestee residents who have planned summer in the mountains specifically to have access to BMC performances are a consistent subset of the community's annual user base. Tickets to BMC events, outdoor concerts at the Straus Stadium, and indoor chamber performance series are all accessible for the 15-minute drive from Connestee.
